Barbara Ludden: Board Member
Barbara Ludden is a veteran of the Washington, DC scene, with extensive experience on both sides of the legislative aisle as well as the private sector. Her long and distinguished career includes eighteen years as top aide to three members of the House of Representatives, and service in senior positions in several Federal agencies, including the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Following this period of Government service, Mrs. Ludden joined the private sector, representing ANSI as a client and, later, establishing and serving as the first director of ANSI’s Washington office. She later returned to the Government, by request, to serve as a senior consultant.
Her areas of responsibility provided hands-on managerial and representational experience, dealing personally with national leaders, including Members of Congress and senior Executive Branch officials, encompassing all three branches of the Federal Government. As Director of Government Relations for ANSI, she spearheaded the formation of a lobbying coalition of 150 corporation and association organizations and guided the coalition in individual assignments and overall strategy, ultimately securing the passage of legislative amendments prohibiting the Federal Trade Commission from regulating the industry by a 95-3 Senate vote.
Having served at the pleasure of three Presidents, Mrs. Ludden brings to 2D2C a unique understanding, from extended experience, of the ins and outs of Governmental processes and procedures both legislative and regulatory.
Mrs. Ludden attended American University and USDA Graduate School. She has been listed in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in Politics, Who’s Who in Government, and the Dictionary of International Biographies.
